Compliance

Your matter is our mission.

In the field of compliance, we provide companies with comprehensive advice on adhering to customs and trade regulations – from the risk-oriented design of internal organizational structures to support in dealings with authorities. Our experience from advisory work, training, and publications flows directly into the development of practical and legally secure compliance solutions.

Customs Law Compliance

In customs law, internal organization has gained significant importance, particularly since the introduction of the Union Customs Code (UCC). Customs simplifications – such as those under the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status – require a reliable and structured organization. At the same time, substantial liability risks exist, especially for management in the event of organizational deficiencies. We support you in analyzing and optimizing your customs processes, in the risk-oriented design of internal control systems, and in preparing and conducting internal audits. The goal is an appropriate, effective, and at the same time economically viable compliance structure.

International trade law compliance (export control)

Being compliant with export control regulations requires an effective internal compliance system, especially in light of complex licensing requirements, embargo regulations, and sanction regimes. Inadequate organizational measures can lead to substantial fines and criminal liability risks. We advise you on the establishment and further development of Internal Compliance Programmes (ICP), the implementation of efficient screening processes (e.g., dual-use goods and sanctions list screening), as well as the creation of organizational guidelines and training concepts. In doing so, we take into account regulatory guidelines (e.g., BAFA, Wassenaar Arrangement, IDW PS 980) as well as your individual risk factors and business models.
